CKD & OEM Service for Storage Electric Water Heaters

Component kits, private-label OEM/ODM manufacturing, and full assembly support — supplied by an electric water heater manufacturing base in Huangpu Town, Zhongshan, China, whose products and solutions reach more than 50 countries and regions.

Wulinfeng supplies storage electric water heater tanks and complete units in three forms: as a finished product (CBU), as a semi-knocked-down assembly (SKD), and as a component kit (CKD) for local assembly. If your market applies tariffs, local-content requirements, or import restrictions to fully assembled appliances, a CKD programme lets you assemble locally, control the final cost, and build your own brand at the same time.

  • 2,000,000+Annual production capacity (units)
  • 60,000 m²Manufacturing building area
  • 98.2%Manufacturing quality (OKF/FOC)
  • 50+Countries and regions served

Service Models: OEM / ODM / SKD / CKD

The industry uses these four terms loosely. Before quoting, we agree in writing on what your kit actually contains.

ModelWhat it normally meansWhat you must be able to do locally
CBUComplete unit, ready to installRetail or light assembly only
SKDSemi-knocked down: major assemblies pre-builtFinal assembly, wiring, testing, packaging
CKDComponent kits: parts grouped by assembly stageTank assembly, wiring, pressure and electrical testing, packaging
OEM / ODMBuilt to your brand, drawing, or designDistribution and after-sales in your market

We supply a bill of materials with part numbers and quantities per unit — not a general description — so that scope, classification, and pricing are never left open.

What a CKD Kit Contains

Using a storage electric water heater as an example, a kit is grouped by assembly stage:

StageTypical components
Tank & linerEnamel steel liner / inner tank, flanges, tank fittings
Heating & controlHeating element, thermostat, temperature control, safety components
ElectricalControl panel, wiring, cable, plug and circuit protection options
Housing & fittingsShell, brackets, valves, small fittings, fasteners
BrandingRating label, manual, colour box and packaging in your language

Tooling and moulds are part of the scope discussion: our service model covers drawing-based processing, full-tooling mould development, custom design, and component kits, with mould ownership and programme terms fixed in writing before tooling starts.

Why Importers Choose CKD

  • Reduce tariff exposure. Components are normally assessed differently from finished appliances; we support your customs broker with bills of materials, part numbers and packing lists so classification can be confirmed before shipment.
  • Meet local-content requirements. Local assembly and value addition are increasingly required in fast-growing markets such as India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Egypt and Turkey.
  • Lower freight volume. Kits pack denser than assembled units, which reduces shipping cost per sellable unit.
  • Build your own brand. Rating plates, manuals and packaging are produced for your brand and your market language.

Local safety, energy and import certifications required by your market remain part of the programme scope: we agree in writing which party supplies test reports and technical files, which party holds the local certificate, and which party pays for local testing.

OEM & ODM Customisation

  • Product definition and R&D support for new models
  • Drawing-based processing and full-tooling mould development
  • Custom design: capacity mix, power tier, panel, finish and configuration
  • Private label: logo, rating plate, manual, colour box and packaging
  • One kit platform serving several price positions in the same market

How a Programme Starts

  1. Choose your model. Pick the product for your market and set the specifications with us.
  2. Define the scope. We confirm which components you buy from us (including tooling and moulds), and which are handled locally or with our training and remote support.
  3. Order your components. Enamel inner tanks, control panels, heating elements, fittings and packaging, documented by part number.
  4. Assemble and test. We back you with technical documentation, training and support through assembly, pressure testing and final inspection.

Documentation, Training & After-Sales Support

  • Bill of materials, part numbers and packing list for every order
  • Pressure test records for liners and pre-shipment inspection against the bill of materials
  • Assembly instructions and sample-kit validation before the first full order
  • Technical training and a named technical contact on the supplier side
  • Stable part numbers and a spare parts list covering heating elements, thermostats, safety components and fittings
  • Sea-worthy packaging that protects enamel surfaces and electrical parts in humid transit

MOQ per model, mould ownership, first-order and repeat-order lead time, payment terms and the inspection trigger are all fixed in the written agreement before production starts.

Before You Order: Buyer’s Checklist

Kit scope, liner standard, certification responsibility, customs classification, electrical configuration and after-sales terms are the six points that decide whether a CKD programme is repeatable. We have published a detailed ten-point checklist for CKD buyers:
